The foyer of Community Bank of Elmhurst now displays a plaque with the likeness of Bill Gooch. Located at 330 West Butterfield Road, this financial institution contacted our shop to assist with the design, fabrication, and presentation of a time capsule and dedication plaques in Elmhurst, IL.
Honoring a Pillar of the Community with an Elegant Plaque
The plaque marks Mr. Gooch’s retirement from the banking industry after six decades of work and dedication. Because it is essential to Community Bank of Elmhurst management team members that his legacy remains clearly visible to inspire others, they commissioned a metal plaque that will stand the test of time.
Our shop assisted with designing a quarter-inch thick bronze plaque that features raised letters and a BAS relief image. The latter is an artistic rendition that focuses attention on the person’s sculpted face. It is an excellent addition to a cast metal plaque that emphasizes a three-dimensional visual appeal.
Because of the Bas relief, the likeness is easily visible from any angle. It is one of the many reasons why this plaque style is so popular with clients.
A secondary plaque dedicates a time capsule to the residents of the City of Elmhurst. Slated to be opened on the city’s 200th anniversary in 2036, it memorializes the founder, chairperson, and CEO of Elmhurst’s Community Bank. For this plaque, we put together a cast bronze display that features a brown, stipple background.
Exploring the Most Popular Options for Plaque Designs
The majority of clients prefer the 3D elegance of cast metal. Typical material options include bronze, brass, and aluminum. Bronze is, of course, the favorite. The manufacturing process allows us to feature lettering, portraits, and custom symbols. As a result, the finished products are suitable for dedications, memorials, lobby signs, and similar products.
Customize the look and feel of the display with attractive features.
- Borders. Single borders are standard. However, double edges add pizzazz to the display that you might not have considered. Best of all, you can play around with the spacing of the borders.
- Bevels. Some clients like the gradual thickness decrease that a bevel border offers. Add it to your standard frame, or let it take the place of a border. We recommend drawing attention to the bevel with color.
- Background. Stipple is a frequent request of clients in the know. However, you might choose something a little different. Examples include leatherette, sand, and pebble imitations. Although most clients request a black backdrop, you might take a page from the Community Bank’s playbook and add a brown backing.
- Finish. A semi-gloss finish looks good and presents your details with elegance. A matte finish gives the display a more contemporary look. You might also select satin or glossy finish.
