Located at 4838 North Sheridan Road, Sarah’s Circle serves women experiencing homelessness. The nonprofit assists with interim housing, employment, and permanent housing. When the group wanted to find ways to thank those that support its mission, a representative contacted our team to help with a donor wall with acrylic panels in Chicago.
Recognizing Supporters to Foster Ongoing Sponsorships
Nonprofit organizations depend on donors to assist with their missions. Sarah’s Circle is no different. The group decided to place its donor recognition space in the foyer. The centerpiece is an acrylic plaque with an aluminum face. It identifies “Sarah’s on Sheridan” and displays in the shape of a house.
Individual donors find their names displayed on smaller houses. They surround the centerpiece. We used .080 aluminum panels for these pieces. It is interesting to note that the client requested that we should also make plaques for anonymous donors. It shows the reach of the organization but also their willingness to work with businesses, government organizations, and private citizens on individual terms.
How to Recognize Contributors to Your Cause
Some donors do not care if they are recognized. Others like to use corporate donations as a brand-building tool. Therefore, we recommend that nonprofit organizations such as churches, homeless shelters, and children’s groups put together a space that highlights donor names. Metal plaques are a favorite way of displaying the information, but they are not the only option.
- Engraved acrylic panels. If you would like to keep a running total of donors, why not have acrylic panels that we engrave for your organization? They look great if we leave them translucent. On the other hand, if you prefer, we can paint the material. Installation is easy with standoffs. As you have new donors, we can engrave the names onto the panels and return them to you.
- Vinyl graphic giving tree. For the organization that prefers a wall graphic, consider the likeness of a tree. Each leaf could be the name of a donor. We can set you up with the initial product and then print new leaves every time you need them.
- Custom wallpaper. Some organizations have begun outfitting their lobbies with custom wallpaper. It looks a lot like a step and repeat banner. As you get more donors, we can add them as graphics to the custom wallpaper.
Expressing Your Gratitude to Donors with Signage
Which presentation makes the most sense for your organization? Remember that you do not have to limit yourself to a donor wall with acrylic panels in Chicago and surrounding areas. Perhaps you favor displaying aluminum panels on a wall or a mesh banner on a chain-link fence.
