A monument sign is a freestanding sign that stands directly on the ground or ground level foundation. Also referred to as a low-profile signs, this type of sign will often include a brick or stone base structure supporting the sign cabinet. A monument sign is often used to mark a place of significance or the entrance to a location. Schools and churches often will have a monument sign identifying their institution and the monument sign may include an electronic message center for keeping the public informed about upcoming events.
